Total state spending would be set at $33.997 billion, a 1.8% increase over the current fiscal year, which is in line with the rate of inflation. The plan provides for a record level of spending on education and includes a deposit of more than $250 million into the Rainy-Day Fund, the state’s primary “savings account.” Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) offered the following comments on the spending priorities of the budget plan.<br/><br/>		</p>		]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[Struzzi’s Dairy Resolution Unanimously Approved by House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://Media2.pahousegop.com/Audio/260432938.mp3" target="_blank">Download</a> Cut :46<br /><br />Hundreds of Pennsylvania dairy farmers rallied in the state capitol Tuesday to ask for support of federal efforts to recognize the value and health properties of whole milk, and the importance whole milk plays in children’s physical growth. Earlier in the day the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee voted unanimously to support House Resolution 222, sponsored by Rep. John Lawrence (R-Chester/Lancaster), that would urge the U.S. Department of Agriculture to enforce the standard of identity for milk and milk products; and House Resolution 402, sponsored by Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana), that would recognize the value of whole milk and support federal legislation authored by U.S. Congressman GT Thompson to ensure whole milk would be available in schools. Rep. Struzzi said he strongly supports the effort to ensure whole milk would once again be available to school children. <br/><br/>		</p>		]]></description>
