This is the third time House Democrats avoided a vote on the bill using procedural maneuvers. I will continue to advocate fiercely for girls, so they have the opportunity to compete on a level playing field. I will push for this legislation to finally be brought to a vote in the committee I co-chair.

My love of baseball extends beyond Little League. During President George W. Bush’s administration, I worked in White House communications where we celebrated the prowess of young athletes with tee-ball on the South Lawn. Baseball and all youth sports help instill teamwork and camaraderie, passing along skills, memories, and relationships that can last a lifetime.
